"Oh Sweet Serendipity"
An Artist's Journey across the Magical Island of Sri Lanka

oh sweet serendipity      Oh Sweet Serendipity

In early February 2007, I set out to explore Sri Lanka. *Serendipity itself seems to have led me there. Armed with only a guidebook and my backpack, I kept everything spontaneous and let serendipity take care of me along the way. I had no set itinerary and no reservations, and that’s just the way I liked it.  “Oh Sweet Serendipity” is a collection of paintings and photographs inspired from this adventure.

*Serendipity – the phenomenon of making fortunate accidents by chance was formed by English author Horace Walpole from the word Serendib, an Arabic name for Sri Lanka, in reference to a Persian tale, The Three Princes of Serendib, whose heroes "discovered, quite unexpectedly, great and wonderful good in the most unlikely of situations, places and people."
