about

In 1995, after visiting forty of the fifty US States, Pisani left New York to travel the world. Armed with only a backpack, sketchbook, guitar, and camera, he set out in search of inspiration and exotic experiences. Sixteen years and sixty countries later, he’s just warming up. He explains it like this:
“Never booking more than a plane ticket in advance and purposely avoiding the easy route keeps things fresh, while serendipity guides me. There have been some bumpy roads along the way, but they often bear the best memories. These experiences, such as sleeping “rough” in the desert of Jordan, stowing away on a ferryboat in Greece, exploring uninhabited islands in Indonesia, or riding a bicycle from Northern Laos to China, become the subjects of my paintings and photographs—each one telling a unique tale.”
Pisani's art work is his own interpretation of the abstract art movement of the 20th century. He also consciously chooses to differentiate his creations by innovative techniques as well as lending obscure clues about his artwork in the poetic titles he gives each painting.
Pisani explains, "I attempt to lead my viewers in the right direction about where I was, and what I was thinking or feeling at the time of creating a particular painting. Then, after giving this initial clue, it is my specific purpose to leave the viewers on their own to question how the title relates to the art itself and to decide how the artwork makes them feel in the context of my clues."
